Sugar Scrub.
What you will need: Cotton rounds, Lemon Juice, And sugar.

Now take a cotton round and put lemon juice on it, and sprinkle some sugar on top. And rub the cotton round allover your face. This is a great, inexpensive exfoliator. It leaves your skin so smooth, and soft. I think it works better than most of the store brands.

Olive Oil.
Olive oil is a great moisturizer, and is also very good for taking off leftover wax.

Vitamin E
Vitamin E is good for your skin, and diminishing the appearance of stretch marks.

Elmer’s glue.
Believe it or not, this works great for removing blackheads. Just apply a small later to your nose or wherever you need, and let dry. Then peel off. It may be pretty disgusting, just a warning. :)

Eyeshadow!

November 10th, 2010

It’s hard to find the look that fits you.

The basics: Every look has three colors. These can be dramatic or natural shades.

Highlight: This goes right bellow your eyebrow to highlight your eyebrows, this is normally a cream, white, or a color close to your skintone. (NO intense neon or dark colors in this area)

Eyelid: The eyelid is usually the lightest actual color you are going to use. apply it all over the lid.. even if you don’t want the outside corner that color.

Crease: Apply a darker color the the outside corner, Create a V shape and pull it through your crease. do not pull it in further than the middle of your pupil.

To make small eyes look bigger! Apply a white shadow in the inner corner of your eyes (the inner tear duct), also apply a white eyeliner on your lower waterline. This will make you look more awake.

Never apply dark shades all over your eyelids, it will just make your eyes look smaller. Apply dark colors to the outside corner of your eye, in a V shape.  Keep darker colors away from the inner part of your eyelid, put them in the outer part of your crease.

Tips for big eyes: Apply matte eye shadows to your lid, and leave the shimmery ones for your crease and highlight color.

Smokey Eyes

Apply a semi thick cream or pencil eyeliner to your lids and smudge it with a brush.. It’s okay if it’s messy, We can fix that. Now add a dark color to your crease, and blend it over the eyeliner.. this will get rid of any messiness that the eyeliner created. Add some mascara, finish your face makeup and your done! :)

All about Eyebrows!

Grooming!

For your first time shaping your eyebrows, go to a salon and get them done! They know what looks best with certain face shapes! After this you will have your basic shape, so you will know where to tweeze when your cleaning up.

Trimming!

Use an eyebrow comb/brush, brush the hair up and trim the excess hair nothing drastic, just little pieces at first. And what you do to the top you must do to the bottom! So brush the hair down and trim some more.  No one likes having Oscar the Grouch eyebrows! :)

Filling!

Blondes: your eyebrows should be two shades darker than your hair!

Brunettes: your eyebrows should be two shades lighter than your hair!

And even if your hair is BLACK! Your eyebrows should not be black too!

Always make sure your pencil is within those guidelines, and is sharp! A dull pencil calls for gross chunky eyebrows! Fill in the bottom of your eyebrows (the defining line underneath), using short strokes. Do not fill in the rest of your brow, simply pull the color up into the top part with a spooly(clean mascara wand). This will darken them, but make them more natural looking.

Setting!

Buy an inexpensive clear mascara, this will make them stay that way all day!

Any questions? Let me know :)

Tips to a flawless looking face!

August 15th, 2010

Moisturize!

You can’t have a good set of makeup, with flaky dry and irritated skin. So apply a moisturizer, make sure you let your skin soak it up for ten minutes before applying anything over it!

Prime!

Find a good primer that fits your skin type, Primers are made to help give you a blank canvas to work with. They help keep makeup out of your pores, and or wrinkles. You should not wear a primer everyday! They smooth out imperfections and such and don’t allow your face to breathe! So just use it for special occasions, dates or big events.

Cover!

Apply your favorite foundation with a synthetic stippling brush ( the one with the long white, and short black bristles). This will help give you an airbrushed look.

Conceal!

Concealing is a big part of this process. If you want to look flawless you need to conceal any blemishes or under eye circles.

Set!

For makeup that lasts all day, make sure you use a setting powder. Especially on your T-Zone where it tends to get oily.

Extra Tips:

Eyeshadow. use an Eyeshadow base.. this can just be concealer, set with powder. Eye primer is made to hide lines an dark areas, and make sure the color you are applying is actually true to that color. Not that color plus your eyelid color.

Eyeliner. Alot of people have a problem with runny eyeliner. So go over your eyeliner with a matte black eyeshadow. This will help keep it in place.

Lipstick. Exfoliate your lips with either sugar or your toothbrush before applying lipsticks. Also make sure to moisturize your lips really well before applying anything.

BIG TIP: For every night you forget to wash your makeup off, Your face will age 10 days! May not seem like a lot now, but it can add up!

Inexpensive Beauty Products Everyone will LOVE!

August 15th, 2010

Hey Everyone!

In this economy it is very hard to find good products that are worth repurchasing and won’t break your budget so i am here to help! And i  have a few great inexpensive products to show you! These are products you can find at your local drugstores, and they are all very affordable. :)

First off: Skincare Products

Nutritioniste Daily Exfoliating Gel Cleanser : $5 (wal-mart)

This non foam cleanser is amazing! I have really Sensitive, OILY skin and this works wonders! :)
It helps clear up my acne problems while being gentle on my skin. I would definitely recommend this product to people with oily skin, Even though it worked great on my skin, everyone’s skin is different I would not recommend this product to people with very dry skin, it will dry it out alot more.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and Moisturizer $6.00(walgreens)

This is my holy grail cleanser! It helped clear up my acne so much, it was incredible. I highly recommend this product, especially for sensitive irritated skin.

Yes To Cucumbers Facial Towelettes: $5.99 (Walgreens)

These are no water needed facial towels, they are great for taking off your makeup at night or just cleansing your face daily. They leave you with a squeaky clean tingly kind of feeling that i can’t get enough of!

Aveeno Active Naturals Daily Moisturizing Lotion: $11.79(walgreens)

However this product is a little pricier than the others i’ve shown you, It’s totally worth it! I got a really bad sunburn, i mean red like a tomato, allover! I was terrified about peeling and this was so soothing and helped my tan not peel all the way off and left my skin so soft.

There are tons of skincare products out there that don’t cost an arm and a leg. It’s just a matter of trying things to to see what matches best with your skin. Also try to read reviews about products before you buy them. And know your skin! what irritates it, your skin type and what it needs. Look for products that are made especially for that.

Second: Makeup Products

Maybelline Powder Foundation w/ Micro Minerals: $7.49(walmart)

This stuff is seriously the best ever! I don’t even need to wear foundation underneath it. Mineral powder absorbs oils and sweat, this is  a great summer flawless face product. It’s very natural looking and doesn’t leave orange lines all over me.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation $11.00(walmart)

This foundation is a little on the pricey side, but for the amount of coverage you get, i’d say it’s completely worth it. Just make sure you set it with a loose powder whether it’s translucent or your skin tone, that right there is the key to having a flawless face that will stay all day, instead of melting off.

Hard Candy’s tinted moisturizer (walmart)

Tinted moisturizers are made to trick people! There for hot days in the summer, or days your in the pool. The have a sheer, natural amount of coverage. It tricks people into thinking you have flawless skin without makeup on! :) They are also very good for your skin, they keep it moisturized, since being in the sun dehydrates your skin. This tinted moisturizer is one of the best and very affordable!

I hope this helped a bit, It took me a lot of experimenting and wasted money to get the routine that worked for my stubborn skin, Just remember beauty products don’t have to be really expensive to work for you. It’s just a matter of trial and error. Look up reviews before you purchase and make sure you know your skin type.

Have a wonderful day!

How to cover tattoos

August 5th, 2010

Hello! :)

In these times it is very hard to find a job, and unfortunately having a tattoo makes it even harder. Tattoos are the first thing a person notices and most people are very judgmental about them. So i have perfected the art of concealing! It is a lot easier than it sounds. I’m here to help!

What you’ll need: Concealer made especially for tattoos, airbrush makeup also works great.
There are a few different companies that make awesome tattoo concealers. Kat Von D’s tattoo concealer and Ben Nye tattoo cover are just a few. And you will need a setting powder, this can be translucent just to set it or can be just a loose powder you use for everyday makeup.

Before you start make sure the area is hairless, the hair can clump up the concealer and make it look cakey and will actually attract more attention to that area.Apply a thin even layer of concealer to the area, then set it with a translucent powder to make sure it stays.

Just repeat these two steps until the tattoo is almost 100% concealed, this might look a little funky because your concealer will probably make you orange. So just take your normal foundation and blend it a little bit.
